These guys have taught me how to ride my bike

These guys have taught me how to ride my bike

Today’s entry is all about the gents. I am here to tell you what makes a fabulous training partner for an elite female triathlete. I have had the great fortune of training with some of the finest men in the sport: from celebs Chris Lieto, Luke McKenzie  & Brent McMahon to local studs Brendan Halpin, Ben Hoffman & Elliot Bassett. Over the weekend I was fortunate to train with some of my favorite guys who also happen to make my job much more enjoyable and faster. (continue reading…)

Perspective

I am back in Montana after a 5th place finish at the Calgary 70.3. There is no use sugar-coating it, I am hardly “over-the-moon” with this result. When I race, I race to win. I know what I am capable of, I know how I have trained, and you can bet that every time I toe the starting line, it is for the win. (continue reading…)

Who does that?

Howdy from Missoula,

I thought I would fill you in on my crazy weekend plans. My triathlon friend, Jeff, is getting married on Sunday in Ryegate, Montana. Where? That is what I said, too. Ryegate has a population of 250 – I am pretty sure the entire wedding will double the towns population. What better way to get dressed up for the wedding than in the high school gymnasium that they will unlock for all the wedding guests? Love, Montana. Love, Jeff & Betsy. (continue reading…)

Howdy from Montana! I am home after a trip to California to race the Vineman triathlon. You can read about my race here .

I thought rather than write about my race – the point of this “blitter” is to keep it short and simple, I would write about 3 things you must do while in Sonoma for the Vineman triathlon. (continue reading…)

Todays swim was a rude awakening. Ouch! It hurt. Regardless, it was still a fun session and went by fast. Enjoy! Swum at Commonwealth Center in Victoria, BC – Long Course Meters. Swim set of the day

‘Cause when you’re hot then you’re cold

Todays workout was an easy one: the contrast bath! Being here in Victoria with my Lifesport teammates we are spoiled by access to the Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence (PISE). Contrast baths are a great addition to the training regimen because they speed up your recovery ten-fold.

Off on another adventure!

Hello! I am off on another exciting adventure. This time my travels are taking me to Vancouver, on a ferry to Victoria for the week, then Windsor, CA for the Vineman 70.3. So, as much as I would like to write about my Montana adventures, for the next week you will get to read about life-out-of-a-suitcase adventures. (continue reading…)

A summer favorite

by linseyc | Jul 07, 2009 | 536 views | 1 Comment

Last night we had one of my favorite summer salads! Heirloom tomatoes with fresh mozzarella and basil. This salad is perfect as it only takes a few minutes to throw together. The tomatoes provide a great source of iron, potassium, fiber, lycopenes, and Vitmains B + C. (continue reading…)

It is 101 days until the “Big Show” in Kona. I thought (actually, Coach Lance) that there was no better way to officially kick off my training program than with a booty kicking trainer session. (continue reading…)
